Thanks, Woody, a sad story indeed but not unique to Belknap. I read "When The Machine Stopped" a while back--the story of the demise of Burgmaster Corporation, once an innovative manufacturer of machine tools. There are many similar reasons for the death of both and more recently, American LaFrance Fire Apparatus. A buyout, new management successful in their previous field tries to force grandiose ideas but have no clue about the operations or culture of the company they just bought.
