I recently acquired a Belsaw Planer Moulder it had been sitting under a tarp for years behind the previous owners shop. I got it for the price of taking it away.

I figured it would have a lot of rust seized parts but amazingly everything was still free, the extension table had one broken weld, I re welded that and cleaned off the rust, some paint and lube and it was in operation.

I sharpened the planer blade it woks very nice as a planer can take a bigger bite than than most 12 inch planers.

So then had to see how it worked as a moulder used some old planer blade stock and ground a profile it works very well and was perfect timing to get since I did a kitchen install last week and they decided they want to add crown moulding.

What I really like about this machine is its simplicity and parts are still available.

I will make a dust collection attachment to mount on the rear of the hood next

Nice find , I have the hussey but have the knives ground for it . I grind my own shaper knives ( lock edge ) but havn't tried the hussey knives because height seemed to be critical ( maybe not ) looks like a pretty tall knife goes in there if that is just blade stock . Very interesting setup , I'll have to do some reading up on that machine .

Rnscustom, the stock knives are 3/4 high my grizzly 20 inch planer knives are one inch, that is what I used for the cutter.

The feed rollers sit much lower with long coil springs in relation to the cutterhead than in a dedicated planer to account for the moulder knife.
