I was searching the local C-List and found a "Ben Pearson" 9k lb lift for sale for a nice price. It is a 2 post with the floor crossover. The lift towers are low enough to fit in my garage.

I have never heard of this brand, is it good/bad/acceptable?

The older Ben Pearson's were good lifts... I don't own a Ben Pearson Lift... But a friend has one that has served him well for years. A few years back all lifts that they put the Ben Pearson name on were ALI Certified. Then they brought out the BayMaster's series that were imported and not Certified. From what I understand, today only two lifts they offer are Certified... The 10,000 AD and their 12,000 SI.... Go figure.

Here's a Two-Post Lift compilation and comparison between a Ben Pearson, Mohawk, and BendPak I posted two years ago…

The Ben Pearson I am looking at has an ALI certification plate on it.

I assume that makes it an older/better model?

Whew.... Just checkin... :lol_hitti

I wouldn't buy a used lift unless I knew how it was treated during its whole lifetime. And it better have been barely used. Lifts are pretty reasonable and not worth the hassel of installing a used one just to find out it needs new this and new that, then next month gotta replace this part and that motor, etc... Just be careful..
