Hello all, I recently purchased a new home and have a blank canvas to build a new work bench. So of course I have been Google searching a lot of pics. I ran across this one that I really like. Does anyone know who's shop this is? But more importantly I am really interested in the vise...It does not look like it is mounted traditionally..Maybe a center post under the bench?

That is an open screw vise that does not look mounted. If it is, it is not close enough to the edge. In my opinion, a vise in the middle of the workbench is just an obstruction. I would find a better vise and mount it on the corner. Good luck with building your bench.

Thanks jimreed, I absolutely agree about vise placement, however I was more interested in the fact that there are no visible mounting holes. Which makes me believe that there is a center stud through the bottom with maybe a wing nut attaching it? I have just never seen a vise with this kind of mounting system and wanted to know more about it.

I restored a Parker with a center stud. The stud was long gone but I found a bolt at HD that fit the nut in the base. I mounted the vise on a piece of 2x12 and gave it to a buddy. It was OK but I think 3 bolt mounting is more stable.
