In the market for a 4" to 6" bench belt sander. Don't really care much about the circle pad on the side.

Currently looking at the WEN 6502, which from what I've read is just a rebranded Ryobi machine, was able to get it down to $97 + $20 back in points at Sears

Sears also has a PowerTech BD4600 for about $15 more. The WEN unit has a bit higher amperage but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to these brands.

Any input?

Look the used route, those 2 are junk IMHO.

Been looking for used ones, they are either $30 garbage or $500.

Maybe I should disclose that this is for my personal automotive hobby, not a commercial setting. It may get used once a week if that much.

Not saying that what you said isn't true, but I'm not looking for industrial grade with an industrial price.

Pretty much any belt sander with an integral motor is a throw-away machine. Look for a belt driven version.
