I have two Craftsman block grinders. One is a 1/3 HP and takes 6" x 3/4" wide x 1/2" arbor wheels and the other is a 1/2 HP and takes 7" x 1" wide by 1/2" arbor wheels.
I currently have a grinding wheel on one side and a coarse wire wheel on the other of each grinder. What would be the most appropriate setup for the HP of each grinder? Should the 1/3 HP have two grinding stones, one medium and one coarse, and the 1/2 HP have the wire wheels, one fine and one coarse? Or the other way around? The grinding wheels I have now are old Craftsman wheels and based on age probably should be replaced. I'm not opposed to spending money on good stones, but I want to get the setup right. Thanks all.
