Made a little wall mount for my bench grinder yesterday. Wanted it to be easily removable just in case I ever needed it out of the way for something. So, I swung by HF and picked up a 12" hitch receiver tube and ball mount, and went to lowes for a piece of 3/16" flat bar, then came home and broke out the cut-off wheel and the welder. Pretty happy with the turn out.

only problem i can see is that your air compressor will be sucking all the grinding dust in

Hi Onelochevy.
I see you have your vice on a pedistal. Can we have a closer look. I am planning to do something similar. A week ago I saw a post of how someone had made a pedistal from a truck brake drum. It looked pretty neat but I cannot seem to find it again. A closer look at yours might help me.

Thanks,
Twarrren...............

I love the wall mount. Does the ball mount wiggle at all inside the receiver tube? Or does the weight of the grinder hold it down well?

Speaking of a wall shield, it might be a good idea to do something about metal bits getting into that outlet behind the grinder. Maybe build a plastic box around the outlet.

Also, someone else mentioned this, but I'd be worried about grinding **** getting into that compressor intake.

This is very cool. :willy_nil I've got a hitch mount for my vw engine stand on my workbench. When I went to use it the motor weighed too much and went looking for heavy stuff to keep it from tipping over.

Brilliant!

I like the idea of the interchangeable tools onto the pedestal using the receiver tube.

Awesome great grinder wall mount. .... i was thinking kind of the same thing but didnt know how i wanted to do it .... now i know .... i was thinking of making it interchangeable with a vise ..... so you can pull the grinder off the wall and then put the vice in and use it.... but I also really like your vice stand.... how does that vise stand work is it pretty sturdy?
