Workbench height cart only 34 inches like shown below(27"L x 18"W x 34 H): I would put some serious weight in the bottom drawer for added stability.

8 inch wheels, 60 pound, 120v Dayton grinder,. Are there any drawbacks to doing this?? Thank you.

That's how mine is set up. My shop's too small not to have storage under everything. I put a butcher block top on it which I recommend to help distribute the weight and dampen the vibration.

To help counter some dust issue you can have a wood top that overhangs front to reduce debris fall onto and into drawer fronts .
I got an old 36" international box that does grinder and bench top piller drill duties mobile round the auto repair shop, I actually use back of box as work side and have a overhang on wood top that rubber stable mat covered, works great, lot of cutting grinding and drill/tap & die and the basic most used hardware selection stored in the box .

I personally wouldn’t want all that dust and debris floating into my drawers and slides.
Good point. I will be storing "rough" tools and supplies in mine like chisels, enclosed drill bit cases, etc. Nothing delicate. A very simple plastic curtain/cover could be applied over the drawer front during grinding operations. Maybe something with magnetic strips.

Because grinding is so messy, I want the mobility so I can move it to the overhead door an let the mess spew outdoors.

If you mount it facing the back, it will reduce the grit going into the drawers. On mine there are exhaust ducts at the rear. I have cloth bags over them.

I finished my grinder cart. Works Great.
- New Craftsman box to match my 1980's tool box, on sale for $229. Not as good as HF, but gute enuf.
- Casters: I went with 3 inch retractable wheel castors that result in VERY stable box - con is the tedious wheel up/down mechanism (tradeoffs).
- Self made top: two layers of 3/4 inch plywood with angle iron edges and steel top. I dislike the idea of wood around sparks.
- Tool rests are at about 41 inches (I'm short)
- Box requires some sound dampening.

Grinder not bolted down yet - seeing if it works well mounted near front edge. BIGGEST BEEF - who paints a manly grinder purple? WTF! Really? The 8 inch Grainger Dayton seems good. Would have bought JET if they offered dual adjustable tool rest.

That's a nice size cart, and those footmaster style casters are probably lower profile than the stock casters.

My setup on the HF lower box is a little tall. I might put some of those other casters on there. I've got them on most everything else in my shop!
