I have my eye on the Baldor 662R which is going for $295. I have never had a bench grinder before. I mainly do classic car restoration and automotive repair. I thought a wire wheel would be nice to clean up parts. Is a 6 inch grinder big enough for my use? What other options should i be looking at?

If buying new I'd lean towards one with a belt grinder on one side, although I'm not sure what that adds to the cost nowadays.

I just peeked on the Dallas CL Tools section:

In a hurry so some of those might be repeats. I think it's the second to last is actually two grinders.

six inch should work for you. It's all going to depend on the horsepower and that 1/3 Baldor is not going to be enough. It's going to bog down any time you have real work to be done. Id choose at least a 1/2 or 3/4 horsepower grinder. The old craftsman block grinders have a huge following here. I picked a 3/4 craftsman up for $50 at auction.

I had a Baldor 6" 1/3hp for many years. I sold it after buying a 7" 1/2hp Dayton, and a few years ago I added a 7" 1/2hp Baldor. IMO the Baldor is the way to go. Buy once/cry once.

Absolutely on the belt grinder. Of the links you posted, I'd go with the 3/4hp Dayton as it's monster at 10.8 amps AND you can easily install a MultiTool belt adapter to it. Money well spent, and once you go belt you will never want wheels again.
