I need a new bench grinder . The one I have don't have enough power to turn the wheel as fast as I want . I have had it for a long time. Use to sharpen mower blades & etc. What brand is good & how many H. P. Don't want a great big one.

I think I would look on CL for a decent larger sized older model. I wouldn't pay attention as much attention to brand and size but more for something older and probably built alot better than what you can buy new.

I'd look for a craftsman block or a Baldor on CL. If that proves dry, if I wanted a new one without buying a new Baldor, I'd give the DeWalts a try. Newer Delta's I have used are so so.

And look at the AMPS on the motor. Try for at least 4 amps on a 6-inch grinder, 5-6 amps on a 7-inch. and 5-10 amps on a 8-inch grinder.
