I need a bench grinder for DIY, light duty stuff. I found a Columbia 7310, 6" 1/2 HP, in excellent condition for $50.00. Is that a good deal or should I keep looking.
Thanks for any help.

They want $55.00 shipping for that $13.00 machine!

For some reason I thought Columbia was made in the US? I thought that I finally found a good deal on craigslist, oh well. I would rather get a brand new Porter cable for the same price.

I have one like this HF one for light duty use, I've used for years. I know it's Chinese junk...but it works ok. $40, less with coupon.
The best grinder I used two pillow blocks similar to this, pulley between them belt driven off of 2hp motor.382aabd3672cd3317c2986f9efe816b9.jpg6a5fcb989fa9498111ca5a7032cc3bf2.jpg

That's probably a better machine than the new chinese stuff. Tool rests look to be made of real metal rather than tin. Might even be a honest 1/2 HP. $50 is kinda high but if I was to the point of dropping that much on a new one I'd take a look at it.
