bench grinder

Hi was wondering was given a mastercraft bench grinder and the switch has been removed.there is 4 wires that went to the switch 2 red wires and to black wires.Like to test to see if grinder works but not sure how to tell which black and red wires go together any help would be great.Thanks in advance

I have 2 red wires coming from motor and and the 2 blacks is coming from cord.I assume if connect black to red and black to other red that would be like there is no switch.Does it matter which black goes to which red?IF so how can i tell?Thanks

No, it shouldn’t matter which wire is hooked to which.
