Bench top wood lathe

Since I've been locked in and have almost run out of projects. I've always enjoyed working with lathes and have started looking for a small lathe. Something I can turn an 18-inch long piece on.

Not looking to spend thousands of dollars but don't want to cheap out either. Open to used as well. Any advice or suggestions?

Without going too crazy on price I think a used Jet, Grizzly or Delta is probably your best bet for small size.

I have an Oliver but it is probably overkill for anything I will ever do. If you get lucky and find one they are worth looking at. I've seen powermatic wood lathes go for reasonable amounts as well.

You will probably be better off looking to see what is available and posting what you find here for feedback.

I have a beaver 3400 I got for free from a family friend. Restored it and put on a 3phase motor and VFD, has served me well so far.
