Bench vise help!

I have a huge bench vise made by Chas Parker, it only has the chas parker logo and 289.5 wrote on it. Can anyone tell me the specs, age, value?
Anyone info on it would greatly appreciated. Thanks

This is just a guess, but based on the style of the logo and the fact that the really old ones seem to usually have a patent date on them, I'd guess that it's from the 1920's or 1930's

If there are no cracks, repairs or missing parts, cleaned up you I'd think you'd have no problem getting $100-$150 for it. If you have a press, you'll want to straighten the handle as much as you can.

Similiar big Parker Combos can be worth alot. Depending on jaw condition and overall condition and handle, cleaned up on Ebay, I saw one go not too long ago for $600That one is older generation like yours before Parker went with the 400 series. Their 288 1/2 back then was their 5" Model. I sold a 5" Parker combo 435 not long ago for $350. it also depends on how much effort you want to put into a restore. If you going to list it on CL and its in good shape, I'd start at no lower then $200-$250.
