Can anyone tell me anything about these mills? Places to read up or links to another forum to search?

My google skills must be lacking, I am having no luck finding any info:headscrat

A picture incoming shortly....... only one I got is on my phone.

You'll have better luck searching by the real name, Benchmaster. That was the first mill that I had. MT2 taper on the spindle. It is a capable mill if you work within its capabilities. They are a sought after mill by the home guys doing model work. Is the end of the table broken off? The Sheldon lathe, depending on vintage, could be a goodie. I have a 10 and 13" model and I am very pleased with them. They are pictured in in my shop thread below.

thanks that info will probably help out alot!

Not sure on the table, but now that you mention it I see what your saying by looking back at the picture. I have not seen with my own eyes yet, just got the pictures texted to me and asking if I want them and a price. I'm currently trying to close on a new shop with house included so the seller said he would hold so I don't have to move the beasts twice.

I guess as far as usage for me it would be anywhere from r/c cars, guns, automotive, and whatever else I could think up within its capabilities. Would prefer to have a nice bridgeport but for the price I will take it home and tinker until I can get a bigger one.:D

I googled Benchmaster mill images and it seems that some have a left end handwheel on the table and some not. So other than the broken T slot you may be ok. The lathe on the other hand is old and has some opportunity! Some parts missing but it also looks to have some good parts there. It may be a candidate for parting out. There is a group for Sheldon machines, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Sheldonlathe/ if you need to send it down the road.

Thanks for the information guys! Now with the correct name it made my google skills a lot better, thanks a bunch Larry!

I am unsure if the photos show all the parts included in the deal here, I know he had to dismantle in order to move it out of his garage and on the back porch 6 months ago. I "assume" the rest of it is in a box outside the picture, guy is a coworker and said numerous times in the conversation both were operational before he needed them moved. I have no reason to not believe him at this point that all the parts are there.

Even so for the 50 dollar bill cost for both they will be coming home with me for a teardown and inspection as soon as I close on new house here in few weeks.

I will update in few weeks once I have in my shop.

Thanks again guys huge help!
