There's an irony in a bag that is made to carry portable tools with "BENCHTOP" in large conspicuous letters...

I've been ordering stuff online from Sears for quite a while. Probably owned by Amazon, but still trying to support Sears if I can.

It's a shame Sears didn't shut Amazon down at the beginning, and take over the online sales sector.

Sears used to have a lock on selling out of catalogs, how hard would it have been to transition to online sales?

I wonder if anyone actually knows why they fell apart like they did?

I have a few Benchtop tool kits in blowmolded cases from Kmart. They live in the barn for work done out there. They almost always get the job done without complaints. My sets are probably 25-30 years old.

I have a few Benchtop wrenches and sockets, K-Mart pliers .
I cant resist buying them when I see em at the flea market !
Wonder if Benchtop and K-Mart brands were made by the same manufacture ?

Sears was in a death spiral long before Eddie Lampert got involved. It's been well documented. Eddie has actually lost his *** since buying Sears. His net worth has declined over $1.5 Billion (Yes Billion$) in the years he has owned it. So if you want some poetic justice Eddie is getting his!

Take a look:

Eddie Lampert

His net worth back in 2006 was $3.8 Billion and he was the richest person in Connecticut. Heck he made over $1 Billion dollars in a single year (2004) as a hedge fund manager. Yet in 2021 his net worth was reported as $2 Billion. For a guy ruining Sears and lining his pockets the entire deal has been a giant money pit! Sears is still declining and losing more value everyday.

Business is not near as easy as it looks!
