As far as I know, there is no lubrication necessary on the HD-9 lifts. I sprayed my steel wire cable with a wire cable lubricant, but never lubed any other part of the lift. I don't believe that you are supposed to lube the ladder. On the inside of the upright tubes, you can use a dry type of lubricant, but I would stay away from any type of grease that will attract dirt and grime, causing the lift not to function properly. I was wondering about lubrication of the bronze bushings in the cable sheaves, but read somewhere that they are not to be lubricated either.

I spoke with BendPak and ProPark (Same design), and both say to use white lithium spray on all moving parts. You may need to clean it and re-apply as needed, but that is their recommendation.
