I've seen a lot of info about the hd-9 4post but nary a thing on their PL7 2 post parking lift. I'm trying to decide which one to buy. Either one will be used for vehicle storage only. I kinda like the 2 post aspect of the PL7 but don't know anything about it. Anyone here use or have a PL7?

thanks

you'll get a ton of different opinions on this but generally for storage (vs work) it's pretty accepted that a 4 post is better. This is of course due to the fact that the suspension isn't "hanging" as it would with a 2 post lift. Ease of driving on and lifting also swing the favor towards the 4 poster as well.

I remember looking at the PL7 before I bought my HD9, and deciding that it wasn't useful for anything but storage. It has a solid (non-removable) deck so there's really no way to work on the car when it's in the air. It also costs a bit more than the HD9.

That being said, one of the local car dealerships uses a whole bunch of similar lifts outdoors, in order to keep more cars in inventory than would otherwise fit on their lot.

It may be an easy to use option if all you're after is more parking, but it doesn't lend itself to wrenching!
