I'm going to start framing my walls and im planning to put a 2 post bend pak hoist in my garage. The XPR-9D states the overall height is 145".

anyone know what the minimum recommended ceiling height is to accommodate this lift.

Thanks,
Chris

Is this a serious question? The manufacturer's specs list it at 145". Why would you even consider trying to skate by right under that? Have you considered that you will need to stand the posts up inside the finished garage, which will require more height than the 145"?
Unless you are planning to finish out the garage around the installed lift. Just frame your walls another 6" or find a lower lift.
As far as Bendpak going over 12' by an inch, their market is for commercial users and home mechanics with excess height to burn. Their 4-posts and parking lifts are designed to fit into normal 'residential' type construction.

Also, watch out for your sloped floor. Your floor to ceiling measurements will be different in different places.

Since you're building I suggest a minimum of 6 inches above the height specs of the lift. Think about light fixtures and their placement. You may need a foot or more depending on your lights.

Edit: Is there a reason you are looking at a floor plate style instead of a clear floor style?

I Installed the XPR10 A in my shop with a floor to 11 4" clearance floor to ceiling . I had room to open up the ceilien and finish around the lift. The only issue I have is with the overhead saftey shutoff switch. If installed on the overhead cutt off bar a tall vehicle could contact the ceilien before tripping the switch.

At home I have a XPR-9D installed. I have a 138 inches floor to ceiling. Even with my Cayenne on the lift there is walk under clearance. I have the posts marked with max height for our various vehicles. I am space limited at my home garage and went with the narrow install. I wish I would have went with the wide install column position as it it difficult to exit the certain vehicles when positioned correctly on the lift with the narrow install.

In the Pic the car is now where near as high as it can go...
