bend pak two post question

if i raise my lift with no car on it, and by leaving the locks, locked. If i release the pressure of the cylinders, would the clyinder lower and the arms stay up. would the ram remove itself from the chains?

also anybody know what size hose fitting screws into the ram

The cylinder will allow the arms to rest on the locks then the cylinder wont go any further as it relies on weight to retract.
