Bend pak xpr10a install issue. Help needed.

Working on getting the posts installed, have the hammer drill rented and electrician coming monday to wire it up. I get to step 3 and have hit a snag. I cannot find the carriage lock plate to install the end of the cable. I looked all over this thing and I am blind or it's not there. Being Independence Day, there is no one answering the phone at the help line.

I blocked up the carriage and mounted the posts to the floor so I can take the drill back and my electrician can do his thing.

Anybody got a pic of where the end of the cable goes on the carriage?

Isn't figure 3.5 in the manual what you are asking about?

Yes, my hoist doesn't appear to have that bracket.

I recall another thread where someone was having the same issue of no being able to see the bracket. I believe in the end the bracket was there, the guy just had to look harder to see it.

It is a small, slotted, metal tab welded to the inside corner of the sliding carridge. About 18 inch up from the bottom.. Dang hard to find the first time, but i would bet it is there...everyone finally finds it. I was PEEOO'ed the first night of working on it with the supplied instructions. A few real life photos would take care of a lot of their REAL crappy drawings problems.

I think we found it. We took a cell phone and snapped a few pics inside the carriage from the top. The flash lights it up niceley. Looks like its about a foot down from the top and on the left.

Now to figure out how to get the cable attached. Since the posts are standing I am thinking of making some sort of puller out of heavy wire or thin rod.

I think I just gave up seeing it and went by feel. That was hard enough.

I just went through this yesterday, you can see where the tabs are welded looking on the outside of the carriage, my arm fit through the opening on top and I was able to just drop the cable into place.

Success. Thanks for the tip Low N Slow. I had a few minutes to work on it and was able to get the end of the cable seated on the bracket.
