Has rotary made changes or is this accurate still?

I have a rotary 10 k symmetrical. Its a nice lift. I doubt you can go wrong with either as long as service is equal. I picked Rotary, US made, local guy for service who I trust.

Yes I guess it depends on service after and parts and who is installing it.
