Searched but just found ceiling mount hoists - does anyone have a rig with pics for lifting an engine out with a 4 post lift?

I am sure it has been done before...happy to fab something but wanted to see if there were any BTDT - with any 4 post actually.

Thanks

Can you drop it out the bottom? That is my plan. I have the HD-9XW which gives up to about 43” between runners.

Or use a regular engine hoist if it will go high enough. Like a HF or similar 1, 2 or 3 ton hoist.

I pulled the engine out of my F250 using a chain hooked to the end beam of mine. It is the HD9xlt though, so it goes pretty high

You can loop chain or sling on the jack tray accessory to lift stuff up.

Not sure how much lift you need to clear the engine bay.

I think I would attach a chain hoist to it so it can go all the way up and not be restricted by the roof of the car.

Seems to me a solution in search of a problem. With a real engine hoist so cheap $125 or so at HF, just use the tool intended for the job?
