BendPak BP-12 (used) - thoughts, comments

OK - I'm looking at a used Bendpak BP-12 - 4-post, 12,000# lift - and can't find a lot of info.

Supposed to be in good condition, and currently in use at a muffler/mechanic shop. Build date is Nov 1999. Has chains rather than cable for lifting - which intuitively is a good thing, at least to me.

Bendpak says they still have parts available if needed and their RJ-6 rolling jacks will work with it. I'm still trying to get them (BP) to cough up a manual and/or install instructions, etc

Anyone got a BP-12 or have any experience with one and who'd be willing to share comments, thoughts, etc?

Oh yes - asking price for the lift is $2500.

That's a great price with the RJ's (two?). The 12K is a monster - you'll never overload it. Polls show that BP is the most purchased lift on this board and has a fanastic reputation.

Unfortunately the $2500 doesn't include the rolling jacks - just the lift. But knowing the currently available jacks will work with the BP-12 is a major plus in considering the purchase.

And yes - it's doubtful I'd ever overload the lift since my largest current vehicle is my '03 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab Diesel which weighs in at a tad under 7K (I'm pretty sure). It ought to handle both "Kowbell" (my CJ7) and the wife's Ford Flex without any sweat.

I had been looking at 9K lifts but am really happy to go bigger. Fortunately the slab I had poured today (16 x 25) will handle the bigger lift from an overall size perspective..

Next task will be to find a couple of used RJ-6's.

My work just sold a 14k 4post with jacks for 1500 after it sat for 6 month with no interest @2500!!!! It was 8yrs old and getting rusty from saltly cars
