Just wondering real world if anyone actually uses them? Got a awesome deal on a Bendpak 10XPR-AS-LP and it should be here by the end of the week. Does everyone just use the flat pads that it comes with? Just curious. Any other tips would be appreciated as this is my first lift.

Mainly using it for my 4 door long bed powerstroke and my suburban

I want to use mine. However I was shipped the old, smaller sized insert cradle pads and since my lift is so new it has a larger hole at the end of the arm that the pad won't fit in.
The new larger ones are still in production and won't be shipped out for awhile.

Not much help, but if you happen to have purchased a new lift and get the old pads don't be surprised.

Ok thanks. Looking forward to seeing how this works on my 4 door long bed diesel. The columns are asymmetric but bedpak says you can use the lift symmetrically as well. Would have just gotten the symmetric lift but this was a open box item almost 50% off and it seems like it will suit my needs

i have the xpr 10a lp and im not a fan of the round lift pads. in fact i just got the cradle style ones with some drip trays for my hd-9xw.

Frame%20Cradle%20Pads.png

I have a 4x4 duramax crew cab short bed and the undercoating on the lift doesent mix with the pads and had one scare with it. I use screw jacks as well to help support the truck or a few 3500 duallys i have had on it.

the puck style pads work on my cadillac or other cars without frames better . or where there is no undercoating.

Just double check when racking your pads are exactly where they should be and you wont have any issues.

Thanks for the input. Which jacks do you have?

I have them on my bendpak asymmetric lp. You will want to use them on anything with a frame. I use the round ones on unibody cars usually at the pinch weld

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE use them. My duramax fell off the lift (with me under it, thankfully I was able to get out in time) with the round pads this past spring (XPR 10A). After a huge loosing battle with Bendpak, I had to replace one of my carriage assemblies at my own cost as it was bent when the truck fell off. Not to mention the damage it did to my truck. Bendpak told me that they are aware that the round pads fail (slip off the frame) when lifting heavy vehicles like a truck as they are not designed for that. They said I should have been using the cradles (have you ever wanted to reach through the phone and strangle someone!). They should have told me that when I purchased my lift as I told them exactly what I was lifting with it. I would have bought them. I now use the cradles and have not had any issues.

Makes me a little nervous on what jackson1701 said.
Really wish I could use my cradle pads, rather than them just sitting there. For now all I have is the round pads.

i agree that the instructions should warn you on the puck style pads. I did still use them after the incident but was way more aware of my positioning and watching them for movement.

personally i think the frame cradle pads should come with the lift included in the price. it is mandatory.

Rotary(spo10) comes with frame pads. I have no issues lifting my Tundra, My 67 Mustang, my wifes Rav but my 2500hd, extended cab, 8ft Reading body, makes me nervous. I put the rear arms on leaf spring, front arms on front cab mount. It won't come off but its hard to tell if I have the weight centered on posts. I have 9ft between front and rear pads. I really don't like lifting it

I have seen a truck slip off a rotary before. The truck was rust proofed and the frame was basically covered in grease. it is common in Canada,

. start pulling and yanking a control arm to come out and the truck slid off.

I believe it, mine is covered with fluid film so it could happen easily on mine also.
It's a long heavy vehicle, I haven't done anything but oil, tires and brakes so nothing to rowdy. Putting the cradle on the spring helps hold it though. The front could easily slide.

My Bendpak MD-6XP shipped with round pads, so I also ordered frame cradle pads to lift my F-150 by the frame. I also use them at the front frame lift points on my Mustang, but use the round pads at the rear lift points where the lift area is fairly wide and not a smooth surface. I also use the round pads for my pinch weld car.

As my cars age, the frames can get a slick oil coating which may slip off rubber pads. I have had a car in the past slip off a floor jack which was manufactured with a rubber pad on the lifting surface. Fortunately the car wasn't very high so no harm was done. That rubber floor jack pad is no longer used on that jack!

I purchased a pair of these too, I really like them! They are worth the price for extra piece of mind.

It's discussions like these that make me think either 4-post life with lifting jacks, or in-floor scissor lift. I need to lift a bunch of oddly lifted vehicles and those 2-posts make me nervous as **** every damn time I use one.

I used to think the same but thousands of shops across the world use them every day and, from what I see and hear, for the most part accidents are due to mis-use as opposed to failure.

I bought 2 of those for my 2 post. They are not jack stands but help stabilize the vehicle or hold up a part. Putting on on the front and rear of the vehicle keeps it very stable.
The most important thing to do with your 2 post is lift it slightly lift it and walk around and make sure the safety lock on the arms are engaged. It's supposed to work automatically but doesn't always. This keeps the arm from swinging out and dropping the vehicle.
