So I bought a Bendpak HD-9 about a month ago, installed it and from day one, the hydraulic cylinder was weeping a drop or two after every lift. I didn't think anything of it and just wiped it up off the floor. Well, Saturday, the seal let loose and fluid started pouring out of the seal.

I emailed the vendor where I brought it, Scott @ bigboysgaragetoys.com and he immediately responded to me on Saturday afternoon. He emailed Bendpak that I was having a problem and provided them with my original order #.

Monday morning Bendpak emailed me that they would be calling me to arrange for delivery of a new cylinder. By 11 AM Monday, they called me and asked if 3 Day service from CA to FL would be OK. They also asked me if I needed to have someone come and install it at no charge. I declined since I wasn't worried about the work - I enjoy it.

Well, they sent it out Monday and I had it today, Wed... 2 days later. a 7' long 70# hydraulic cylinder.

We often post about bad experiences with some vendors, but in this case, I just wanted to post my great experience with Bendpak.

How much was the motor?

Did you call them? I know they have a 2 year warranty on the cylinder. What's a cylinder cost?

I had a similar experience as the OP. Except my cylinder never leaked, the cyl. rod seal blew out on the second time I lifted a vehicle.

I called BendPak direct and they shipped a new cyl. the next day. Didn't arrive as quick as yours, but I had it in less than a week. They offered to install it as well, but I figured I would have to wait for an installer to schedule the job, so I swapped it out myself.

Although this speaks well of BendPak customer service, I hope it is not an indication of overall quality. Hopefully a run of bad cylinders, and they have corrected the problem.

bendpak will only sell the motor with the pump, it was in the $800 range. stone mfg makes the motor for the bendpak lift, from stone just the motor was $318

my cylinder is over 8 years old so it how of warrenty, and it still broken, it will squirt oil five feet last time i had a car on it

I've had my HD-9 for about 8 years now. I use it a LOT, at least weekly, to help me maintain all of our cars (along with those of family and friends). Anyway, the switch on my 220 motor burned out so I called BendPak Suport. They quickly informed me that my original switch is longer available because it had been replaced by a newer micro switch version. They also quickly shipped it out to me FOR FREE.

I also would like to say Scott from Big Boys Toys is great to work with. I purchased my BendPak from him and he kept me informed on the status of the order and help me find a local installer. There were some issues with the lift and he worked with the factory to make things right.
Great customer service from both Scott and BendPak.

i agree. When you have a good customer service experience, others should know. Bend Pak has been extremely responsive on two occasions. So much so that I sent their customer service head an email to let him know how well customer service treated me.
