Q: How do I know if the lift I order will be BendPak blue or Gunmetal Gray?
A: We suggest you email [email protected] to confirm.
December 2016 – Approximately 80% of our inventory will still be BendPak blue.
January 2017 – Approximately 60% of our inventory will still be BendPak blue.
February 2017 – Approximately 40% of our inventory will still be BendPak blue.
March 2017 – Approximately 20% of our inventory will still be BendPak blue.
April 2017 – By this time, the majority of our inventory will be Gunmetal Gray.
Again, we suggest you email [email protected] to confirm.

Good info. I guess mine will be blue.

Gray? Ugh. Seems 3rd world"ish".

I'm going gray... and I don't care for that change either.

Might be a cost cutting measure, probably the most likely reason.

I like it. But and then again my Rotary is gray as well so its not surprising.

Why is is that so many lifts are blue with yellow arms in the first place? I never understood that haha

I ordered my BP in red to add some color to the shop. Blue was just too common and black shows too much dust/dirt. Now if BP would be able to ship their products without them being scratched in transit it would be nice. I just was not pleased with the way they packed the lift for transport. I know big objects can be packed correctly, I purchased literally millions of dollars of equipment for the stores I set up before retiring. Scratches and dents were not acceptable, the product was turned away at the unloading dock.
Do you hear me Bend Pak?

Well the yellow arms are easier to see and not trip over/hit your head on.

Interesting... this is the first I've heard of this. I'm hoping to pick up a Bendpak asymmetrical 2 post in the next year or so and I had planned on ordering a black one. I think I prefer the look of the blue in general but I might have to consider the gray since I think I am going to paint the bottom half of the walls in my garage gray. I could attempt to match the color of the lift and then it would fit right in. I'll wait and see some more pics of the gray ones first since I've got some time.

I love the gray.

Just completed my first two post lift install thanks to the help from Jeff at Bendpak where I was able to test the fit and finish of the Gunmetal Gray.

The lift arrived quickly and the paint color is very nice. The finish was smooth and the packing was perfect.

Everything was clearly laid out in the instructions and all mounting holes lined up perfectly. The only issues I had was the hydraulic fittings at the cylinders got in the way of the lift carriage. One of them did get some pressure on it and squeezed the hose but I checked it and seemed to to be OK.

The other important thing to note is the wiring for the safety switch should be a bit longer to accommodate the bend at the top near the column. When raised to the top hits the cylinder cap. I tied it out of the way the best I could and wrapped it with some extra rubber insulation from my primary wire and electrical tape. I bled all the air out of of the cylinders and they do go down slow but that is probably due to no weight on them.

I highly recommend the lift and the service at BendPak!

I attached some pictures of the install.

It seems that the people at Bend Pak often skipped math class.
IIRC, <20% is not the threshold of a "majority". I assume they meant ALL of their inventory will be gray in April.

My 4 post is blue. I have some red stuff and some blue stuff and some yellow stuff in the shop. And a few pieces of stainless steel. Anything I build for the shop is painted red or blue, or some of both, or maybe yellow. Anything of a different color that ever needs painting will be one of those three colors.

I don't care for the gray, too drab and dull.
