Can someone post a picture of the post caps of their HD-9/14 or any similar Bendpak 4 post lift so I can see how well the post cap fits relative to coverage of the entire end of the post? My caps vary in width by about 1/16" from one side to another and the fit is such that not all of the end perimeter of the post is covered completely by the cap.

Unless this is normal and I am overthinking things, I am becoming very disenchanted with quality of the Bendpak product. I recongize that their CS has been good for most in the past, but geez, I would think good product fit and finish would eliminate the need for a fair amount of damage control CS.

Thanks!

my caps fit the top of the posts without any of the perimeter exposed, both on my HD9 and HD14. The lift cable pulls down on these so they MUST fit correctly, do not have pics avail at this moment, but it sounds like your caps are the wrong size

They don't fit perfect-not too precision but they cover all sides of the post-I have a HD14. Here's a picture of the HD14 Bendpak top post bolt on cap and of my SMO12 Rotary-which are welded on, better quality.

The caps of my HD-9s fit just like the bendpak picture posted above. I clamped them in place before tightening the hardware to ensure alignment.

Yes, the caps MUST overhang the perimeter of the top of the post. If yours are too small, either the post is tweaked or the caps are too small.

I was disappointed in the fit of mine. I thought they should have some sort of alignment groove or rails on them to hold them in place as you install them.

It would be a pretty simple matter to spot weld them into place, however.
