Quick que for anybody who has experience with one or the other to be able to assist with a quick question on width accommodation.

Generally storing smaller sedans on the lift but I want the capability to get my Tundra on the fixture for tinkering underneath. The HD-7 max drive thru width is 76.5" and tundra outside edge of tread is 77" (stock rims). I don't mind folding mirrors for the once or twice / year trip up the ramps but not sure if it is practical in real life.

I absolutely cannot wait to saw my creeper in half. Would like to be able to 'squeeze' the truck on when necc and don't want to give up unnecessary footprint to the 7W if I don't have to.

So anybody out there successfully squeeze a truck on a reg width Bendpak?

Thoughts, comments and smart remarks appreciated.

Cheers!

~John

I was in the same situation. I Finally went with another loft for 2 reasons.
One is the BP is only full rated at the ends of the rails. meaning if you put a smaller car you loose lift capacity.

Two I have a suburban and mustangs. So I went with a lift that is fully rated over the length of the rails and is longer and wider to accommodate all vehicles. Turned out to be a great decision. Plus you have more working room underneath with the wider lift.

I didn't know the about the full rating only at the ends of the rails. Where did you find those specs? Also, mind sharing what lift you went with? I also have a Suburban and I haven't settled on what lift will best work out.

Had not heard about the lift cap limit at rail end and good comment on extra work space underneath.

+1 for whatchyawentwith.

The weight limit issue isn't as ominous as it sounds. Bendpak spec sheets spell it out clearly. Unless you have a very heavy short wheelbase vehicle you'll be fine.

I called Bendpak and the tech said that anything over a 110" wheelbase is fine up to spec weight restriction (anybody with a 7000 lb 911 needs to shave some weight....).

I also discovered that the 7W ramps can be 'unpinned' and moved to a narrower setting so the answer is if you have the 'elbow room' for the wider version, the 'w' version will accommodate both 'normal' and wide ramp space settings.
