Hey all,

I've had my HD-9 for about three months now and I LOVE it, especially in the new Battleship Grey color they come in as standard. Matches my flooring perfectly!

One issue I'm working on with Bendpak/my installer:

  • When lowering the lift onto the locks, even slowly, there is a loud audible bang coming from the safety ladders.
  • It happens with or without weight on the lift.
  • It sounds like as if you were to strike each column with a metal object (metal on metal sound) and the car jerks or drops maybe 1/8th inch, but it's a little unsettling to me.

Does anyone know what the deal is with this? The latches all click at or about the same time going up. So the rigging should be good. It just seems like the latches are not fully gripping until the last moment and then BANG!! when they fall into place.

That's a new one. They all do that? I seem to half remember that BP made a recent change to the safeties but I don't remember what it was or if I'm confusing a change to the lift or the RJ jack. But I've had my BP for over a dozen years now and all though you can definitely hear the safeties catch, they don't make that kind of noise.
