Was interested in opinions.

I've been doing a lot of research and have settled on a Bendpak HD-9ST. The width will work well for my garage and everything I've read seems to indicate this is a solid lift and pretty reasonably priced. Had a few questions.

Where to buy...

I've looked at ASE Deals and they've got some decent reviews and prices seem ok.

Lift - $2,855
Wheel kit - $260
48" aluminum approach ramps - $420
2 x 3,000lb sliding jack trays - $280 for both
Shipping - $40 charge to deliver to my house

Total = $3,855

I checked at Best Buy Auto Equipment and they were similar. Any other sourcing suggestions?

As far as setup / install - any pitfalls? Getting the lift off the truck, etc.?

Also, it occurred to me the heaviest vehicle I'll have on the lift is a Honda Pilot (weighs around 4,200 lbs), are the 3,000 lb (each) rated jack trays sufficient?

Any feedback is much appreciated.

note that those "jack stands" only work in the "narrow" configuration. for the wide setting, they sell adjustable jack stands.

the adjustable ones have a fixed length of "workable" area, with arms that adjust to the particular width. i dont understand why they dont offer fixed width ones for the wide setting.

at some point, i'll get someone with the proper toys to bend me two trays.

other than that, i think my hd-9 is great.

Thanks for the message. I think I'm good as the model I'm looking at is in the "narrow" configuration. Thanks.

I just received my Bendpak HD-9 from Best Buy Automotive late last week. The customer service was really good, it arrived when they said it would, and the price is very competitive. Regarding getting it off the truck, you will need to have a forklift or rollback at your residence to get it off. Since most folks don't have a forklift sitting around, call an automotive towing place who should have a rollback. It took maybe 20 minutes for them to get the lift off the truck to the rollback and in my driveway.

I discovered this website while looking for tips to make installation easier.

Took the plunge. Ended up going with ASE. Got me out the door for a little over $3,700. Looking forward to the install and no more sliding around on the floor on my back! I'm doing delivery to a freight forwarder near me and will pick it up there.

For the approach ramps, consider Race Ramps. They are lightweight and they can customize it for the BendPak lifts (standard ones will not work). I have a set and they work really well.

^^^Hi YZFMax!

as to the OP, I found it easier to just get them to install it. They picked it up from the depot, delivered to the door, and installed it.
