i purchased a bendpak hd-9 a few months ago, and have decided that i would like to get a jack tray for between the runways. the jp3 model, at 140$, only fits when the runways are in the "narrow" configuration, while mine is in the "wide".

the jp6, which is an expandable version, costs 320$. from the looks of it, it consists of a fixed length shelf, and arms that extend to fit the lift. this causes one not to be able to put the jack all the way over to one side, because the platform only spans the middle.

since these runways only have two settings, why dont they just make two fixed width trays? should be cheaper to buy two of those, than one expandable one that is less useful.

this does not look like rocket science. does someone else make a jack tray for the hd-9 that fits in the wide configuration?

thanx.

Have you looked at the trolley jack? It will allow you to position the lifting pads at any point along the top beam or extensions. Its very flexible.

Yes...each end of those trays when expanded are open. A friend bend some heavy steel into "U" shapes to fit over the ends. Still..I rarely use the jacking trays. With my lighting setup, I took them down for now.

they are a lot more of a solution than i am looking for, and they cost about 1400$ each, which is approaching ½ of what i paid for the lift itself.

to be honest, 140$ for a metal tray seems like a lot, but i understand that a bunch of that price pays for the liability of selling it in the first place.

i dont know how well any of it sells, but it seems like an opportunity for someone to make some money bending and shipping 3/8ths inch steel.

i am not set up for that, though . . . . .
