Talked to a local Bendpak dealer today about a HD9XW and he told me they changed the runway paint on 4 posts this year and has had a few people complain that it is smooth now. I called Bendpak and they said yes it no longer has the grit in it but it should not be slippery. Does anyone have a newer lift that can confirm it is still non slip. Not worried about car sliding off or nothing just wondering if this is an seen as an issue to others. Still undecided on lift. Thanks in advance.

You got me curious, so I just went out to the shop and flipped over one of my HD-9XW runways for these shots (sadly I haven't found the time to put it up yet).

Mine are smooth. Picked up in December 2020 (manufacture date is September 2020). Looks to be the same paint that's on all the other pieces.

Cant comment quite yet in regards to slippery-ness... Suspect they are fine dry. Wet tires might be interesting.

The steel ramps (yellow) do have the texture.

If you find it to be a problem, You could add a clear top coat (maybe a urethane?) with anti skid mixed in

I went and picked it up today definitely smooth. The easy to clean was my thought too. According to bendpak its still considered non skid but i dont see how.

Lift is all together and this slippery paint is not good. Bendpak assured me it was still non skid but with dust on the tires from gravel driveway lost traction and had to full forward then back. Definitely a disappointment. Must be a money saver passed down to consumer.. Why not make it an option or charge the extra.

2horse,

I just installed my BendPak HD9 and I too was concerned about how slippery the runways were. I bought 3M Traction tape from Amazon and installed it along the runways, it works Mint!!

Had my hd 9 installed last November runways and ramps have the grit paint they should change the name of the company to cutting corners while raising prices bought a 4500 pound rolling jack that wouldn’t roll if assembled as instructions dictate tried to convey this to customer service also the sleeve that spans the main beams that raise the jack has a sleeve with a zerk to carry grease to the axle where it spans the beams was clearly too short so that what you pump grease through the zerk it flows out the ends onto your shoes lol I sent these **** bags a video and measured the sleeve they sent me a replacement that was short I just gave up like talking to a wall no concept of anything mechanical fuckers should go sell shoes but probably would **** at that too though they did send me a new hydraulic cylinder for the lift cause the leak proof cylinder was leaking after the authorized installers installed it -they sucked as well ripped me the **** off and left me with a pile of **** to clean up and a half gallon of oil on the floor cause they didn’t have a funnel ash it show from start to finish unlike my previous hd 9 and jack I had done in New York excellent installer and experience sorry for the rant just frustrating having to deal with these pricks that **** at their job with zero consequences
