i need to pull a cylinder due to blown seal, what size fittings are on the lines, I like to buy a plug fitting before i start to minimal leakage.

How many gallons go in a gas tank? Nobody can answer what size your fittings are without seeing them. They are probably 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" or 1". I suggest you go to the hardware store and look at some pipe fittings to compare the thread size with what you can see. Or just buy plugs in each of those sizes and return the ones you don't use.

Just thinking about how the lift works, its a single acting cylinder pressurized only on the bottom. So when the lift is down, most of the oil is in the tank.

It doesn't leave the tank unless you pump it out via electricity.

So with the lift down, its just basically the volume that's inside the lines. I don't think it could be a quart total.

I would get an appropriate catch basin and use that to collect the scrap/drainage. You are going to need new replacement makeup oil anyway that's likely sold in a gallon size at minimum.

I think you are over thinking this, if I was that worried about drips I would just get a gatorade bottle and some duct tape, pull the fitting off and tape the bottle to the hose, done...

I would make more of a mess getting the plug in than if I just let it drip on the floor...

On my XRP-10 the fitting were 3/8 JIC where the lines attach to the fittings. .
