Bendpak install Question

Continuing my install of a XPR10AS. I have to say the instructions are pretty bad. Anyhow, the small cable that connects the interlocks wants to rub on the cord coming out of the microswitch. I think this was discussed before on this forum but I can't find it. How are you all dealing with this?

The issue I had with mine is that the cable that actuates the locking lugs wasn’t intuitive re how to route at the post end, and the instructions were either wrong or unclear, at least to me.

There were some posts on thes a year or two ago, but I don’t remember the details, and I’m 2100 miles away from my lift so I can’t take a picture. Works fine now.

I don’t recall any interference with the cord.

Take a picture from harsher back so we can see exactly where your issue is. Is it on the overhead crossbar, or the post.

It is on the top rail where the wire comes out of the microswitch. Also, do you have any idea what those 12" long rods that are threaded on each end are for? There is not pic of the install in the manual. It says this though...

My Forward lift had axles at the top of each post with pulleys to guide the latch cable. How does your cable change direction?

It has small pulley. I have not seen the rods in any of the install videos either.

The safety release cables should be inside the top channel, along with the equalizer cables. If they’re routed properly, they won’t foul.

The long threaded rod goes through the columns, front to rear, just above the equalizer pulley, at maybe 1:00. It’s shown, but not talked about in one of the prior illustrations. If I recall, it’s sort of a safety guide to keep the equalizer cable in the pulley shive if something goes wrong. You can’t thread the cable if that threaded rod is in place, as there’s not enough room to slip the cable end through the gap.

The instructions are actually quite clear….for someone who’s assembled a lift before. For a rookie…not so much.

The best thing you can do is search online for a few YouTube videos, even if they’re for other brands of two post lifts. A few hours watching videos will help immensely.

Thanks. That makes sense on the rods. I took "thru the top of each column" as meaning literally installed vertically thru the top which made no sense. i have watched countless videos and have not seen them mentioned. I have the cables and wires run properly on the top channel but the lock cable still rubs the microswitch wire. This was discussed previously by another poster. I decided to run it thru a section of pex to prevent chafing. I sent the pic to Bendpak and am awaiting a response. The angled connector looks like a better way to go.
