Bendpak interferes with Racedeck tiles - Spacer?

My lift just got installed and as was putting the Racedeck tiles on, I realized the arms don't clear the 1/2" thick tiles. Sadly my lift is not wired yet, but I assume that once wired, I can just raise the arms, put in a 1/2" thick steel spacer plate and then have lift rest on the spacer 1/2" higher than originally. Naturally I'll have to adjust the cable tension to remove that extra 1/2" slack on each side.

Do any of you see anything wrong with this plan?

I think you would find it easier to just have a1/2 shim for under the lift made of of 1/2 in plate. No adjustment necessary for lift cables etc. Should be enough left of anchor threads to move it up 1/2 inch.

I don't see how raising a fully installed lift is easier. Also, there's not much if any beyond 1/2" of threads on the bolts.

I believe the 1/2" spacer under the lock release (that locks the arms from moving when raised) will do the trick.

Sadly I haven't had a chance to inspect the lift mechanism yet and it's at its lowest rest position, but from what I understand it is currently resting on top of the bottom plate, not a lock.
