Matt,
That should work fine. If you read the specs it does say that the SAE Oil Weight is 10. That is pretty standard hydraulic fluid.

If you want to be absolutely sure, call Bendpak and ask them.

I am not a hydraulic expert, but my understanding is the big advantage for ATF is for cold flow. If your lift is in area that stays above freezing, lower cost hydraulic fluid is fine.

I've used ATF in three lifts over the last 10 yrs. never a problem. Hydraulic elevators use Hydro 32, good oil also. Either will work for you.

ATF has more detergent than reg motor oil, so do not use it.

Falcon67 has the right idea.

Um why? Mine spec'd it and I've been running it for the last dozen years in my BP with no issues.

ATF and Hydraulic Oil are pretty much identical, in regards to vehicle lifts. (I'm not suggesting you put HO in your ****** as I really have no idea what it would do!) One of the reason most lift installers / service techs prefer ATF over HO is the color. A loose fitting, seal leak, hose problem, etc. tends to show up right away. When using HO, you may notice a damp spot or see a small puddle on the floor, but is it from the lift, the last job that was done by the tech using the lift, etc. all becomes an investigation. HO and motor oil tend to look alot alike when spilled. If you can rule out a transmission leak right away, that leaves the lift as the likely culprit!
