Bendpak MD-6XP won't reach jack points

Had this lift for about 2 weeks, no problems with the lift, however I tried to work on a Honda Odyssey and the arms won't reach the lift points. Ideally I need lift arms about 6" longer.

I contacted Bendpak-they don't have longer arms available. Alternate jacking points on the Odyssey are single points front and rear, no help there. I looked all over under the car and there isn't any place else I would try.

I would like to find a solution that is first of all safe and second "doable". I could have longer arms made up, but it would most likely be too expensive to make it practical. My only thought would be to use a set of 2x10s across the lift arms with the rubber pucks on top. Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks for the reply, yes I'm trying to use those lift points. The arms on the lift are not quite long enough.

You need "wheel engaging adapters" from Mohawk lifts. Just google it

You mean the lift pads won't even reach the pinch rails on the vehicle? Thats crazy.

Sorry for lagging on the response. First time this has been brought to our attention. But with any lift, trying to get the perfect arm reach that will work for ALL vehicles and still meet lifting capacities is difficult.

Shoot me an email. I’ll make you special set of longer arms as long as the vehicle weight is not over 4K. You cover the freight cost – I’ll cover material and labor.

You keep the other arms in the event you need 6K capacity.

FYI, Edmunds.com lists the weight of a 2009 Honda Odyssey at 4,387 lbs.

EDIT: Just checked the curb weight of your generation Odyssey (2004 figures used), and an 'LX' model was listed as 4,310 lbs. 'EX' would probably come in around 4,390 or so....

Are you kidding me? JSK is going to make longer arms? I also have a bendpak MD-6XP and would gladly pay freight for a set! Unbelievable! It's been my only complaint with the mid-rise.

This is why I looked very carefully at the mechanical drawings of a number of scissor lifts before I decided on this model from BP. You would think they would be close, but they aren't! Can't wait to get mine installed (a month away now).

A few weeks ago I changed the oil on my new to me 2014 Porsche Cayenne Diesel. I lifted the CD with my BendPak MD-6XP scissors lift. I had to run the pads out past the ends of the arms to catch the lift points on the rockers. It also required positioning the lift in exactly the right spot to minimize the amount the pads were overhanging the arms. Certainly not ideal, but it worked.

I need to do some measuring, but I'm considering pushing the lift in from the side next time if I determine that will allow the lift pads to not be half way off of the arms. Obviously the front/rear balance becomes more critical. Has anyone done this?

BendPak is telling me that they have longer (27-1/4" -vs- 23-5/8") arms available at $120 each. Part number 5215470. I suspect shipping would bring it close to $550, I can't really justify investing that in this lift. I'd rather put it towards a MaxJax.

My titan sl6600 lift has a reach of 78" end to end, subtract a couple inches for the pad to sit and to insert the safety screw.

on my unibody SUV it reaches beyond the outside of the tires, obviously the jack points is not an issue.

The stud length is shorter on the bendpak so when you start switching arms between brands and vice versa, there could be an issue.

I have had many vehicles on my bendpak and have never had an issue. I will have to measure this weekend, now you got me worried.

Same here I have the same lift and never had any issues mine came with yellow arms.
