Fish tape.

It’s pretty wide open in there from what I recall. I think the cable was threaded after the columns were raised. The manual, available online, will help.

Don’t pull the broken cable all the way out, if you haven’t already . Cable is readily available at the local Ace, and any box store, TSC, etc. use the old cable to pull the new one.

It’s fairly easy to do and get to, I strung mine after I erected my used SPOA-9 (bought disassembled) using the manual and having never seen it installed previously. After you pull the plastic covers on each column it is pretty obvious.

I don't know anything about lifts, but out of curiosity, is there a special grade of cable used due to the application.

Normal aircraft grade stainless steel cable. Not sure how the cable broke, as there’s no real load on them. They just have enough load to overcome the little bit of spring tension that pops the dog into the slot.

Must have been rubbing on the column opening and frayed, is all I can envision.

Thanks. I didn't know Ace and big box stores carried aircraft grade stainless cable. I would figure those places would carry some utility grade that is used to stretch across a dirt road entrance or hang a sign or something.

Not sure the cable provided is even stainless. It might be plain galvanized.
