I have got m. BendPak 10 k lift installed but now I a can not get the safety lock to work on the non power side. When I tighten the cable to where the lock will release tHere is to much tension and the lock will not spring into the lock position.
I have checked and tried everything I can. Seems the cable is to lose or the springs to weak. This is a new 10k 2 post. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have the same lift and same problem. It hasn't made it high enough to the top of my priority list to be solved, though.

The problem is that when the lift takes a load, the columns and top bar bend just a little bit. This changes the geometry of the release cable's pathway and the mechanism goes slack.

There is a sweet spot and I've been able to adjust mine so that I can pull the handle, then walk over to the passive side and manually pull the lever. This unseats it just so slightly so that when I go back to the power side and pull the handle, it will disengage.

I've gotten it to "work" like this, but it's a real PITA and I'm always on eggshells watching the load to make sure the passive side lock doesn't grab on the way down...

you have a picture of how you looped the cable on the non pump side? the instructions weren't clear and i didnt route it the way it should and had the same problem. I also added some grease to the joints and it helped a ton.

yea same mistake i made. They werent clear on their instruction that they included, but online they updated them!

Here is how it needs to route to make the cable pull easier.

^ That's really interesting. I called BendPak once and this must have come out after that call. (Probably closer to 2 years ago.)

I'll try this change this week. It will be interesting to see how much of a change it makes. This around-the-bar routing only provides 1/4" of additional leverage on that bar from putting the loop directly on it.

The biggest help for me was lubing up everything, I used silglyde.

Thank you for posting that and thanks to the OP for starting the thread.... I have been fighting that since day one.... moved the wire and made all the difference in the world. As a safety precaution I think I am going to tack a washer or something to the bar where the wire goes over as mine is pretty close to the end.

Thanks again for posting this! I did the fix last night and it's unbelievable what a difference it makes - like having a new lift.

I had a spare 1/2" press-on retainer, which I put there on mine but I don't think it really needs it.

Looking at how the wire on the pull side routes around the top bar, I'm thinking that this was the original design vs. a quick fix. It works MUCH better.
