Hi guys,

Has anyone here Flush mounted a Bendpak SP-7X? I'm in the process of doing that, and it seems that I get all sorts of different answers to the same questions whenever I speak the folks at Bendpak.

My contractor is scratching his head as to whet to tell the concrete guys. I just wish i felt more comfortable with the knowledge of the techs at Bendpak. We want to make sure that the slab is prepped properly.

THANKS!

I just installed the same lift. Can you tell me where you got the filler panel to cover the middle section. Bendpak says they do not have this.

Also, did you have any clearance issues in the tabs of the sliding section?? mine hit the sides although i built it to theit specs. 24" wide.

Thanks

I installed this lift in my garage. I had a concrete contractor cut the slab, then he used a tractor to set in place. Note Bendpak website has the flush mount dimensions (PDF). you will also need to run a small trench with 2" conduit for air/hydraulic lines to the control unit- so plan for that.

I had 18g Steel diamond plate bent to hide all the chipped edges from cutting the concrete. I painted with metal paint (sher-kemp) from Sherwin Williams- keep extra for touch ups. If I had the extra cash I would have Powder Coated. check out my vid

I just finished my install of a Bendpak SP-7X flush and I was looking at some old posts to see if anyone had experienced any similar frustrations. I also built my recess pit to the Bendpak specs as richard181 did also as noted above. I had the same experience with the handles welded to the sliding extension plate. We had to cut all four handles off to get the lift to fully recess. After the install, I made Bendpak aware of the issue. They told me the extension handles were supposed to be cut off at the install. I somehow can't buy the fact that the engineers designed the handles to be welded on, painted during the manufacturing and then to be cut off during the install. Who are they trying to kid? Major flaw in specs and a silly way to try to save face. If you are planning a SP-7X flush install please be aware of this issue. See the results of the handles after removal. I am sure the engineers wanted their design to look like this after the install.
