Do you have any problems/issues entering and exiting the vehicle with the symmetrical column width and bigger vehicles? This is THE ONLY thing that has me concerned on whether to go with the symmetrical, or the asymmetrical. I don't want to pull the vehicle between the columns to find out I've got 8 inches to get in/out of the vehicle.

Again, I'll be lifting up to 1-ton diesel trucks on occasion, but if the asymmetrical isn't going to do it securely and safely (without the vehicle rocking because the weight is not distributed evenly), then I'll go symmetrical (extra wide of course).

Please weigh in with your opinions.

Thank you.

Whenever we had a situation like that in the shops I worked in, we'd park back a little bit and leave it in neutral. Get out, put a block in front of the tire (where you want the vehicle to stop) and just roll the car forward by hand.

I have a XPR-10ACX and when I get heavy "Full Size" older vehicles or trucks I park a little short and, as the other gentleman said roll the vehicle to a centered position. We had a long thread going on this and the reality is you can't put more then 2500 pounds on any one pad. When I put a "compact" car on the lift I can get away with almost anything. But when I'm lifting something big I watch the deflection of the posts when the vehicle breaks ground and will reposition the vehicle if I fell the deflection is too much. No matter what they say the vehicle, especially the bigger it is has to be centered for safety. There are a few video's out there that show vehicles coming off lifts and none of us want to be around for that let alone responsible for it................

It's a great lift and you will enjoy it...............

I have the xpr 10 cx and had the same concerns as I also lift heavy diesels. After talking to Jeff at Bend Pak and voicing my concerns ACX vs CX pertaining to heavy vehicles hanging off center of the posts he assured me either lift would do the job as they are both ALI certified. He then recommended the CX and I am very pleased with it. It can also be loaded with the vehicle backwards. I also position the vehicle the last few inches by hand as others do as it makes it much easier. You will be happy with either one as Bend Pak has excellent lifts with great customer service.
