Bendpak XPR-10S safety release issue

I just installed the above lift this weekend. I had some help and a friend did all the safety release installation while I was drilling the holes. It is extremely hard to push in and move the handle. It is also extremely loud when the carriage passes across it and slams back into place. Any thoughts on this?

sounds pretty normal to me, I have the xpr 10cx.

I have an xpr-10A and the locks on mine are also loud. I think it's just the result of metal hitting metal getting amplified inside a metal enclosure. As for the safety lock release handle, mine takes a fair amount of pressure to push in as well but I wouldn't say it's extremely difficult. Maybe the handle hinge or other component in that system needs a little spritz of oil?

I was thinking adding a extension to the release handle just to give you a little more leverage...........but I haven't done it yet

killahog mentions (post 30) his cables are skewed and there is a picture (post 36) that looks like mine as well.

If I turn the top plate around than the micro switch will be too far away from the power unit, not to mention I would need to take a bunch of stuff part.
