Bendpal 4 post lift noises

I had had my 4 post for 5 years. The car is staying raised more then it has in the Previous years. Occasionally hear a creak, that spounds like the steel cable. Should I be concerned?

My 4 post is not a Bendpak but when it sits on all 4 locks the cables are relaxed so that should not be a concern. Maybe out of it's out of adjustment enough to where it is not locking firm enough on all 4 stops and it creeps down until it does.

Do you release all the hydraulic pressure on the ram when you leave the car in the raised position? The lift is designed to raise the vehicle with the ram/ cables but not designed to have the system hold the weight of the vehicle for an extended period of time.
You should always leave a raised vehicle with the weight on the locks and the cables not under tension.

I leave a little tension on the cable but not very much. Locks are engaged as primary support. Should I take all the tension on the cables?

I let my cables sag a little. I have no tension on the cables themselves.
