I was fortunate to pickup a used Benwil TP-55 yesterday for $500. I am ecstatic that I FINALLY have a lift for my small garage and I am excited to get it installed.
I have exhausted a internet search looking for information on the TP-55, and all I have been able to determine is that:
1. Benwil is no longer in business
2. Aftermarket parts are available through SVI
3. Parts seem to be listed under TP-7 / TP-55
Now I have been able to locate a TP-7 installation manual, as well as SVI's parts manual and it seems the TP-7 and TP-55 are the same in most ways.
I'd like to know two things:
1. What is the 'official' operating weight of a TP-55?
2. What is the difference between the TP-7 I can find info on, and the TP-55 I have?
Does anyone have any good info on the TP-55, or own one and can answer these questions for me?
I can't find anything on the lift itself that shows me the lift capacity of the TP-55, but if the parts are interchangeable with a TP-7, can I expect that it's rated for at least the 7,000 pounds the TP-7 documentation shows?
