I purchased a Bernzomatic propane torch a couple of days ago. It was the one with the igniter built into the torch head so you can just click the button to light it. Last night I used it to heat some copper. When I was done, I closed the valve and laid it down. Then I noticed there was still about a 1/4 inch flame coming out of the tip. I tried closing the valve tighter but the flame was still there. I watched it for a couple of minutes and the flame never went out so I took the torch head off the bottle and will be returning it. If you have one of these, when you shut it down, make sure it is off.

It's bleeding off the residual pressure between the tank shut-off valve and the trigger.

Pull the trigger after closing the tanks valve completely, until the pressure is dissipated.

I have 2 that do the same thing.

It's like an AO torch set-up.

That's not right, when you let go of the ignitor button it should stop the flame instantly. What model do you have?
