Good and cheap don't usually go together, but check out Harbor Freight. If you think you'll be beating on sockets, then go with the impact sockets. They can take the abuse a bit better.

Being that most American made sets go for several hundred used quite often I'd imagine your gonna be stuck with some china stuff. I'd grab a 20% off coupon and hit up hf.

If your just needing a couple sizes you might be better off buying a used (domestic) ratchet and then grabbing just the sockets you need, building a quality set over time.

Gray Pneumatic, Sunex, but I think most 3/4 stuff is built plenty heavy for most users.

I would get whatever set of 3/4" impacts you need and a 3/4" ratchet/breaker bar from harbor freight.

For 3/4", all import sockets are more then likly made in the same factory. Tools that size you will most likly not break, but if you want to go cheap, just buy hf for easy replacmen if something happens. If you are going to use these somewhat often, get a better ratchet. Those cheap one, even if guys say are strong, are so coarse and their cheapness really show. Good USA 3/4" ratchets start around the $75 new, normally some form of a Danaher (Craftsman, Allen, or Napa). Hurry on the craftsman, chicoms are here, but my store still had two USA's.

Anything under 100 is going to be Chinese ****. I'd buy a quality ratchet and individual sockets as needed. Check out the Williams line at tools delivered.

Need one cheap. I'm hoping for under a hundred dollars. Help me out guys.

You did not mention what you are looking for, sockets? ratchet? Metric? SAE?

Check the classifieds here and post a wanted ad, I am sure there is some sitting in someones box they would be willing to sell. Provided they know what you are looking for.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
I have Proto 3/4" sets at work and SK 3/4" drive sets at home (SAE &Metric) but carry in my truck Craftsman sets. I bought them as a late Christmas gift to myself, for some reason even though I had the other sets I've always wanted the Craftsman sets (it probably goes back to being a kid staring at the Sears catalog). I was pleasantly surprised that the case for the SAW set came with individual pockets for each socket, it was a nice touch.

Here's what my "set" has in it,

I picked up a couple of 20" ratchets one S-K & one Napa for 25$ each off ebay. Local sale for a 36" Snap-on ratchet, 125$ (newer item).

Toptul 40" breaker bar, about 75$, I think. Titan has the same one for a little less. Broken Craftsman 18" breaker bar from my Dad, 0$

Snap-on 3/4 to 1/2 adapter 15$, ebay

Armstrong metric 12pt shallow set 22mm to 50mm IIRC, 95$ clearence off Sears site a couple years ago.

Inch set 15/16 to 2-1/4, missing 1-7/8, that I pieced together, some are newer, some are older. Not sure off hand how much, cost wise. Some sockets were free (from my Dad) some were 3-5$ each, others around 10-12$each.

16" 8" 4" extensions, around 50$ or thereabouts for all. Got some of ebay, other's at a Napa sale.

Check out Cripe distrubting, they have some pieces and sets in thier ebay store and website.

If you do go Harbor freight, do yourself a favor and get a decent ratchet to use. I've seen some made in china ones I would not trust not to break or strip a pawl.

The metric sizes will be the hardest to piece a set together with.
Inch sockets are very common and can be found second hand, usually 5-6$or so each.
