The 3430 doesn't have adequate tooth count for the constraint spaces. And feels kinda brittle.

I'd disagree with that, i have a 3430 that's been in daily use for over 5 years Works fine in tight spaces, works nice and smooth. I have a Snap-on compact 3/8" flex head and have no desire to upgrade from my Wright to match as it works so well and is such a nice ratchet. Works great in tight spaces on everything i work on.

I definitely received a dud then (refer to picture in previous post :) )
If that's the case, I'm ordering another then. Thanks!

Surprised no one mentioned the Titan gearless, have them in 1/4 and 3/8, like them a lot. Only down side might be not being able to hear or feel the ratchet action in some apps.

I have the Titan 3/8 stubby ratchet from Northern Tool. I just used it this past Sunday and it worked great. It's nice, has 3/8 on one side and 1/4 on the other. It's a 2 in 1.

I bought a Snap-on one like that 10 years ago thinking it would be really useful.

I've never used it.

I bought this Ko-ken about 5 years ago (photo is when it was new) and I've used it many times. I wanted a high-tooth count one, so the 90-tooth Nepros was the perfect tool. I already made use of the Nepros one earlier this week.

Do you use it by hand or with extensions like a crowfoot? I have stubby ratchets for hand use, and never found a need for the crowfoot setup.

Primarily with extensions or with a breaker bar.

At the time I bought my Ko-ken, my small budget didn't allow for a purchase of an expensive XL-length ratchet. So, I felt it was a wise purchase.

Snap-on called theirs, IIRC, the multi-purpose ratchet. The Snap-on and Ko-ken ones are like a 4-in-1 type of ratchet:

-use it as a conventional stubby
-use it as a long ratchet (limited by what extensions you had at your disposal)
-use it as a flex-head ratchet (limited by what length breaker you had)
-using a breaker bar in a particular orientation, one can apply a push-pull type ratcheting action on it. (I've never applied the last feature into any practical use)

The Nepros one has a closed ****-end, so it's a 3-in-1.

Here's an example of it being used in the process of removing an O2 sensor in a really confined (nearly blind location) engine space.
