Got a little bosch 12v impact the other day and loving the power in such a small package. Any thoughts on best accessoies to keep with the cordless impact...the kind with 1/4 hex bits. So far i have hf impact sockets, a few makita sets of driving bits, and a set of dewalt german made drill bits. Amazed at how well drilling works with the impact. Added a makita impact gun chuck to adapt to standard drill bits. Added a few hf multisized bits as well to see how i like those vs. Smaller drill and knockout set for punching holes in electrical cabinets. Any recommendations on one that is high quality and comes in 1/4 quick adapt? Any other uses for the cordless impact i might be missing?

I've been using the Milwaukee socket adapters, they're all the same length, and all shorter than most others. I use my impact whenever I can, so that extra 1/2" clearance comes in handy.
I'd toss the chuck in a drawer. I've got one, and I don't think I've ever bothered using it. I've got a set of 3 smallish bits I got in a Dewalt kit, and that's all the drilling I've ever needed to do with it.
Oh, and nutdrivers. I use a lot of self-tappers, regular and swiveling 5/16 and 3/8 nutdrivers get used a lot.

Got a ton of the socket adapters around but prob need to upgrade the quality. Not sure if theyre all impact grade. Always assumed they were impact grade by default till i broke a few. Was looking at a dewalt set at home depot yesterday but passed on it due to coo. Thats definitely on the upgrade list though.

I had a friend get it for me and was pissed when I got it and found out that COO was China but I have had it now for 6 years using it with all my impacts and have yet to break one. Really surprising since I have broken some of the Dewalt/Milwaukee impact rated bits.

I started collecting the Snap-On magnetic spring loaded deep sockets and dedicating an impact adaptor to each of them. Not cheap, but very convenient. I never use my nut drivers anymore and it's very nice because the bolts never fall out when working in automotive environments.

a few small drill bits with the hex on them are awesome to have around when you just need a quick pilot hole to slam some self tappers into.

I've got the Kobalt socket adaptors. Pretty sure mine were labled as made in the USA, I'm not sure that's still the case.
I also have various Dewalt torx and phillip bits and think they're the best inexpensive ones I've tried. Also have a Dewalt magnetic bit holder that makes the bit itself magnetic, which is handy. Friend of mine has the same thing but an older version. I liked his better. The bits seem to fit better and the hex shank fits better in the impact. I'm not sure if mine got by QC or if they changed factories where they're made. Regardless, I like the bits but the magnetic holder could be better. Still a nice thing to have, however.
