If I had to choose just one... I'd go with my Facom channel lock pliers. Adjustable, thin nosed and thick comfort grips.

There have been plenty of times where I've struggled with something using some Channellocks or some other good quality pliers. Then I grab a pair of Snap-on Talon grips and the job becomes easy. I'm not saying they're the best all-around pair of pliers, but they are very good and I wouldn't want to be without them. They are certainly worth the money.

In my book I have 4 brands that are tied for #1 - Snap-on, Knipex, Channellock and Klein. They're either Made in USA or Germany and built to last plus feels good in my hand when using it.

Knipex and Snap on are tops for me. Knipex Cobras and 10" dykes. SO 8" 3 position slip joints compliments the others nicely. Nothing wrong with my CM pliers but the others are on a whole different level.

You can't generalize and say that one brand is better than the other. All of them have their strengths and weaknesses. Here's a few examples of what each manufacturer is good at.

Knipex - Cobras and Pliers wrench

Klein - Diagonal side cutters and wire strippers
